ADAMS, Matilda (Sister). (Charleston, AR--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 5, 1980). Sister Adams served as the major superior of the Dubuque Franciscans from 1962 until 1972. Prior to this, she had served as the president of Briar Cliff College for six years.
Sister Adams taught in the Dubuque archdiocese and spent nine years at Holy Trinity School. In 1973 she established a Center for Spiritual and Personal Growth for sisters of her community at St. Cloud, Minnesota.
