Schwind | Schwind returned to Dubuque and became a bookkeeper in the [[TSCHIRGI AND SCHWIND]] brewery, remaining there until he and his brother purchased the business which they reorganized as the [[WESTERN BREWERY]]. They managed that business until 1892 with the formation of the [[DUBUQUE BREWING AND MALTING COMPANY]]. Schwind was cashier and had charge of the shipping department of the new organization. Schwind served as a director of the [[GERMAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK]], vice-president of the Dubuque Automobile and Garage Company, and later as cashier and director of the [[UNION TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK]]. (3) He was also the secretary and treasurer of the East Dubuque Supply Company and treasurer of the [[DUBUQUE REALTY COMPANY]]. SCHWIND, Benjamin J. (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 1, 1869--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 19, 1926). Schwind, the son of Jacob SCHWIND was educated in the local ward and high school until the age of sixteen. He then worked as the bookkeeper for Eulberg Brothers, brewers, at Portage, Wisconsin. (1)
