MCCARTHY, Leo. ( Oct. 29, 1936--2006). McCarthy was the 2005 recipient of the FIRST CITIZEN AWARD. His list of civic contributions went far beyond his pro-bono legal services as a member of the law firm of Reynolds & Kenline.
An early supporter of the COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER DUBUQUE, he handled the many legal requirements for the foundation's creation and later growth. He later served as co-chair of the investment committee and was a board member.
The Foundation honored him in 2008 by dedicating the Leo A. and Joy K. McCarthy Center for Nonprofits.
