HARTIG, Albert J. (Dubuque, IA--1964). Founder, [[HARTIG DRUG COMPANY]]. A graduate of the Northwestern University School of Pharmacy in 1904, Hartig returned to Dubuque and became a manager of the Ruete Drug Company at First and Locust [[STREETS]]. He bought the company in 1905 and began the chain of stores which included sites in East Dubuque (1912); Dubuque, Oelwein, Iowa (1953); Galena, Illinois (1975); and Dyersville (1985).
