DUBUQUE, VINTON AND SOUTHWEST RAILWAY COMPANY. The Dubuque, Vinton and Southwest Railway Company was incorporated in July 1901. At a meeting on July 3, 1901 the directors chose as officers [[DAY, William Harrison Sr.|William Harrison DAY, Sr.]], president; D. D. Meyers, vice-president; E. J. McVann, secretary; and [[COATES, Frank|Frank COATES]], treasurer.  A report at the time stated that the secretary had been in contact with towns along the proposed route with suggestions as to how they could assist in the construction. (1)
