Publisher.  Conley was the founder, editor, and publisher of the ''Dubuque Leader''.  First employed by the [[TELEGRAPH HERALD]] as a printer, Conley established the ''Dubuque Leader''in 1906 and remained in the newspaper business until his retirement in 1935.
