RUMPF, W. H. (Ellfleth, Grandducke of Oldenburg--Weisbaden, Germany, 1911). Rumpf began in the grocery business in Dubuque in 1853 with his company [[W. H. RUMPF]]. In 1882 he became a partner in the firm of [[RUMPF, HOSFORD & FERRING]] and then retired. Rumpf moved to Brooklyn, New York and then Bremen, Germany and finally Weisbaden where he lived with his daughter.

In January 1865 Rumpf formed a partnership with [[SCHROEDER, Frank|Frank SCHROEDER]]. In 1882 Rumpf sold out to the firm of [[RUMPF, HOSFORD & FERRING]] and then retired. Rumpf moved to Brooklyn, New York and then Bremen, Germany and finally Weisbaden where he lived with his daughter. (2)
 
In addition to his business Rumpf served on the board of directors of the [[GERMAN SAVINGS BANK]]. (3) He was also a director of the [[COMMERCIAL NATIONAL BANK]]. (4)
