DOUGHERTY, Edward. (Dougherty, IA, Aug. 27, 1868--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 2, 1951). Dougherty, a graduate of LORAS COLLEGE, served as pastor of ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL from 1923 to 1928. For several years, he was parish priest consultor and played in the archdiocesan mission band.
In 1938 Dougherty was named a domestic prelate with the title of Right Reverend Monsignor by Pope Pius XII.
