Upon Dubuque's death, auditors suggested on May 31, 1814, that Antaya be paid first and in full the $498.20 owed her. Successful suit against this and other payments delayed settlement of the estate for seven years. She eventually received 68.5 cents on the dollar or a total of $424.63.
