LEATHERS, Allan. Allan Leathers proposed an omnibus line in Dubuque with two vehicles. The exclusive rights of operating the line for ten years was granted to him on April 16, 1855.
When the business did not prove profitable, it was abandoned. A number of hotels, however, continued to provide their guests with transportation to and from the levee.
