ZAHREN, Michael E.
ZAHREN, Michael E. (December, 13, 1953--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 23, 2023) The son of Robert and Barbara (Bott) Zahren, Michael graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in 1972 and earned a full-ride scholarship to play football at the University of Iowa. He married married Pam Wieland on November 24, 1989.
Mike excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. He earned all-state honors in football, and all-conference honors in basketball and baseball. He was inducted into the Dubuque Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. He was also inducted into the Slow-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2022.
Mike spent over 25 years refereeing and umpiring high-school athletic games.
