YOUNG BROTHERS CARPETING CLEANING WORKS AND LAUNDRY. Young Brothers in 1893 was located at 24-32 Eighth Street in a building in which they occupied the first and story story. Their relocation was due in part to the installation of a new Rotary Carpet Cleaner of which there were only three of the same size in the United States.

The eight-sided machine was equipped with rotating, corrugated carriers arranged so that they rotated toward the center of machine one-half turn. A powerful exhaust ventilator "thoroughly aired them and removes all gases and odors and all dirt and grit." The machine was able to clean rugs, tapestry, draperies and furs.

Among the local businesses using the machine were A. W. Sears and the Hotel Julien. Carpets were called for, cleaned and delivered the same day. The company had two delivery wagons with a third available during busy seasons.
