WRIGHT, Norma Jean. (Yorba Linda, CA, Aug. 16, 1928--Dubuque, IA, June 7, 2010). Wright earned respect through her work with the Machinist Union Local 1238, Dislocated Workers Program; Operation New View; NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE (N.A.A.C.P.); the Nursing Home Care Review Board, as a Patient Advocate; and in the SHARE program.
For forty years Wright was also well known for her involvement in the bowling community of Dubuque. She served as a Junior bowling coach, league officer, member of the 600/700 Club, and Secretary of the Junior Bowling Association. For more than twenty-five years, she was on the board of the Dubuque Women's Bowling Association. In 1998 Wright was inducted into the DUBUQUELAND WOMEN'S BOWLING ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAME.
