WILMAC BUILDING
WILMAC BUILDING. Built in 1903 at 801 Jackson, the building was originally owned by the FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY. This company used the building for the production of window sashes doors, blinds, wood mouldings, trim, brackets and hardwood interior finish products. Additions to the building were added in 1915, 1929, and 1944.
CARR, ADAMS AND COLLIER COMPANY purchased the building in 1960. It was sold to McNamara Industries in 1976 and then several years later Wilmac acquired it. Major rehabilitation to the building was done in 1983-1984.
The building first hosted "Voices from the Warehouse" art show in September, 2005. Future plans for the building include it becoming a 68-unit apartment complex with additional space for commercial and arts tenants.
