WHITLOW, Kathryn E.
WHITLOW, Kathryn E. (Harper, KS, Nov. 20, 1921--Dubuque, IA, June 25, 2011). Married to Marvin WHITLOW, Kathryn was a longtime member of the board of trustees of CLARKE UNIVERSITY. She served on the Student Life Committee and the Development Committee, member and chair of the Board of Directors of East Dubuque Savings Bank, volunteer at the Mercy Gift Shop, and a member of Thereseans. In 1993 Kathryn, as chairwoman of the East Dubuque Bank, reached an agreement with a group of investors to sell the bank the family had purchased in 1962. (2)
Whitlow donated $1 million upon her death to support Clarke's endowment fund. (3)
