WALLACE CIRCUS
WALLACE CIRCUS. Famed for its horses, the Wallace Circus came to Dubuque in 1906. During the parade, men with long poles held up the trolley line for the wagons to pass. The circus was fighting the circus trust from which it had withdrawn. The trust had responded by sending out a large circus to trail the Wallace group advertising for itself at the same time the Wallace Circus was performing.
