VANORMAN, Suzanne
VANORMAN, Suzanne.(Dubuque, 1939--). A retired Executive Director of the Mid-Columbia Children's Council, VanOrman was Past President MECCA-League of Women Voters and Past President, Oregon Head Start and Region 10 Head Start Associations. Her prior governmental experience included Oregon City Commissioner, 1983-1985, 1988-1996; Budget Committee; Commission President; and member of the South Fork Water Board and Oregon City Urban Renewal.
A Democrat, VanOrman in 2010 was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives, first elected in 2008, representing District 52, which encompassed all of Hood River County and parts of Clackamas and Multnomah counties. She beat mixed martial artist and Olympic silver medalist Matt Lindland 58-42 in the 2008 general election.
VanOrman served as Vice-Chair of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Communities committees. She also served on the Education and Human Services committees.
