TAKE FIVE. Opened in 1997 at 371 Bluff, Take Five, named for a Dave Brubeck tune, was the site of one of Dubuque's first coffee roasting businesses. Operated by Eric Adam, Take Five proved so profitable that other sites for the purchase of packaged coffee, brewed coffee and espresso drinks were opened in Wacker Plaza and Platteville, Wisconsin.

Adam roasted the beans at the Bluff Street store for sale in Dubuque, Platteville, Younker's coffee cars, and for private outlets in Sioux City.
