SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES CENTER. Founded in 1975, the Substance Abuse Services Center provided quality counseling, education and support services to address alcohol, drug, and gambling concerns and addictions while promoting physical and mental wellness. The agency served Dubuque, Delaware, Jackson, Jones, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, Allamakee, Winneshiek, and Linn counties. (1) The not-for-profit agency focused on substance abuse treatment with a particular emphasis on heroin and other opioids. The staff also educated people with drunk driving convictions and sponsor several prevention campaigns against teenage alcoholism. (2)

In 2018 CRESCENT COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER partnered with SASC to offer on site substance abuse counseling on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (3)

The 1987 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 799 Main.
