STANKE, Nicky. (Ottawa, IL- ). Director, CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY. Stanke became director of the library in July 1988, after serving over seventeen years in the library field. In April 1973, she began her career as director of the Plainfield Public Library in Plainfield, Wisconsin. She was the director of the Career Center in Red Wing, Minnesota; a member of the reference staff at the Iowa City Public Library; and administrator of the East Central Regional Library in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she previously served as a consultant.

A board member of the DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, Stanke participated in the Capital Fund Drive of 1990. She was also a member of the Senior High Boosters Club, Women in Management (Dubuque chapter), and the American Association of University Women (Dubuque chapter).
