SOUND OFF. A controversial RADIO program, Sound Off was thirteen years old in 1985 when it was aired every day from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on KDTH. In 1978 an estimated audience of 20,000 listened daily to legendary reporter Gordon KILGORE field a wide variety of questions. (1)

By the time the last program was aired on Friday, August 2, 1985, the nature of the discussion had become heavily criticized by public officials who found the show's call-in format generally negative toward the city. (2)
