SHALOM SPIRITUALITY CENTER
SHALOM SPIRITUALITY CENTER. The former IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ACADEMY and Shalom Retreat Center changed its name on January 4, 2014. The Sisters of St. Francis established the Center on January 4, 1989 through the work of Marie Therese Kalb, OSF and three other Franciscan sisters. Sister Kalb served as the director from 1989 to 2001. She was succeeded by Sister Margaret Jungers who served from 2001 to 2011. Marci Blum, OSF was Shalom Spirituality Center director in 2013.
The staff of Shalom has grown from three sisters to five full-time and five part-time staff with more than 150 volunteers. Shalom annually serves over 8,000 people of all ages, cultures and religions.
The 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 1001 Davis for the Shalom Retreat Center.
