SEXTON, Michael J.
SEXTON, Michael J. ( -- ). Sexton was the publisher of the Waukesha County (Wisconsin) Freeman before becoming the publisher of the Telegraph Herald in 1989. During his term as publisher, the newspaper began a stand-alone publication, Tri-State Business Times. He remained as publisher from 1989-1992. (1)
Upon leaving Dubuque, Sexton held an executive position with the parent company of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, was group publisher of daily newspapers in Main and for the last eight years of his career the publisher of Anchorage Daily News. Among the highlights of his tenure, Sexton cited expanding the newspaper's online business and web presence and positioning the newspaper -- Alaska's largest -- for its future as "a hybrid news and information company." He retired in 2007.
He was succeeded by Thomas YUNT.
