SCHUMACHER, Melvin F. (Cassville, WI, Apr. 24, 1907-Dubuque, IA, June 13, 1990). Labor leader. Schumacher, a thirty-seven-year employee of the DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY, was business agent of Local 150-A of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union from 1944 to 1962 and also served a term as president. Schumacher helped establish the DUPACO COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION and was a lifetime member of the DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB.
