SCHULTZ, Henrik

SCHULTZ, Henrik (Schleswig-Holstein area of northern Germany-- ). Beginning his medical career as a rheumatologist studying autoimmune diseases, Dr. Schultz became interested in infections and their transmissions. Following his interest and unable to find a program in Germany, he took a fellowship at the University of Iowa in 2003. He trained in HIV medicine, transplant infectious diseases, hospital epidemiology, clinical microbiology and epidemiology in public health and other areas.

Dr. Schultz joined MEDICAL ASSOCIATES CLINIC PC (THE) in 2010 as a hospitalist. He became the chief medical officer in August 2020 and joined the county Board of Health in January 2021.

On January 2, 2022 it was announced that Dr. Schultz had been named a fellow by the Infectious Diseases Society of America, an honor given to just 199 physicians and scientists in 2021.
