SCHLUETER, Leo. (Dubuque, IA--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 14, 1984). In 1954 Schlueter became the first recipient of the "Parent of the Year" award at LORAS COLLEGE. The co-founder of SCHLUETER INSURANCE AGENCY in 1921, he was chairman in 1946 of the Sacred Heart Renovation Program and served on the MOUNT CALVARY CEMETERY Board from 1945 to 1955.

Schlueter and his brother Joe organized the Dubuque White Sox baseball team around 1916. Under his direction as manager, the team dominated the local baseball scene from 1919 to 1922. He assisted in the organization of the Dubuque Junior Boys Baseball League in 1942 and reorganized the White Sox.
