ROEDELL'S ORCHESTRA
ROEDELL'S ORCHESTRA. In 1907, Roedell's Orchestra was described as "the very first water as far as quality is concerned." They were featured at many of the city's leading social events including the Traveling Men's banquet. More unexpected was their performance at the roller skating rink; their music enhanced the pleasure of the skaters "three fold."
Newspaper reports indicated that as soon as pieces of operatic music were successful elsewhere, they were obtained by the orchestra so that Dubuque residents could enjoy them well ahead of the general public. In 1907 the work of F. G. Roedell had been enjoyed locally for fifteen years.
