ROBINSON, C. W. (New York, NY, September 18, 1856--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 4, 1894). Robinson was only one-year old when his parents moved to Dubuque. This relocation only lasted one year as the family moved to Stevens Point, Wisconsin where John M. Robinson, this father, was constructing large lumber mills. With the completion of the work, the family returned to Dubuque in the spring of 1860.

C. W. Robinson was educated in the public schools and then attended Northwestern University. His education ended in a year and one-half when he was called back to Dubuque at the age of seventeen to help is ill father operate the lumberyard. Two years later his father died, and C. W. Robinson operated the C. W. ROBINSON COMPANY until 1892 when illness caused his to sell out.
