RICHARDS AND ROSE. The successor to F. JENKEL, this company was formed February 1884.

The company carried a large stock of fine watches, diamonds, jewelry, solid silver and silver plated ware, and clocks. They made a specialty of fine watch work and enjoyed an increasing trade in railway time keepers made especially for railroad men. They did a great deal of work demagnetizing watches and changing key-wind to stem-wind.

The 1884-1885 Dubuque City Directory gave 551 Main as the address.

The 1886-87 Dubuque City Directory listed the southeast corner of 8th and Main.
