RICHARDSON MOTORS. According to an article in the TELEGRAPH HERALD in 2010, the original showroom was located at 770 Iowa Street. SHIKE-RICHARDSON, INC. opened around 1965 in a large brick building on the corner of Iowa and Eighth STREETS. The company, a complete automobile service, sold Buick and Cadillac vehicles. A used car lot linked to the company was located at 870 Iowa Street.

Due to URBAN RENEWAL, the dealership was forced to relocate in 1969. Richardson Motors moved to 1475 John F. Kennedy Road. The 770 Iowa Street location became the site of the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center.

In January, 2019 company officials announced that the firm would be relocating to 5400 Dodge St. Explaining that the dealership had simply outgrown its present location, Chad Richardson said the new facility would expand 50,000 square feet making it twice the size of the current building. The new building would include showrooms, office space, a full parts department, car wash for serviced vehicles and a full-service body and repair shop. Including outdoor space, the new Richardson Motors would encompass 13.5 acres compared to the 3-acres located along Kennedy Road. The dealership would continue to sell new Honda, Buick, Cadillac and GMC vehicles. At an estimated cost of $7.2 million, the new building was expected to be ready within one year. (1)

The 1980 through 1983 Dubuque City Directory listed Richardson Buick-Cadillac-Honda at 1475 John F. Kennedy Road.

The 1985 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed Richardson Inc. at the same address.

The company relocated around 2021 to Highway 20 just west of Dubuque.
