RENNISON, Ronald
RENNISON, Ronald. (Dubuque, IA--Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 25, 1991) Rennison entered the U.S. military in 1987 and trained as a motorized transport operator. While stationed in South Korea, he logged 20,000 miles of accident-free driving. Before being discharged in 1990 he also completed missions in Honduras and Egypt. After Irag's invasion of Kuwait, he was recalled to duty in 1991. On February 25, 1991 an Iraqi Scud missile struck the barracks housing the 14th Quartermaster Detachment killing 27 Americans. The war ended three days later.
On July 9, 2022 the Reserve Center which marked its 75th year in Dubuque was named for Spc. Ronald Rennison, one of 292 service members killed in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
