REINERT, Francis J. (Petersburg, IA, Jan. 27, 1934--Dubuque, IA, May 4, 2018). The son of Anselm and Henrietta (Deppe) Reinert, Francis graduated from LORAS ACADEMY and attended LORAS COLLEGE. He served in the Army in Germany 1956-1958 in the 5th Infantry, 8th Division Hq Co and band. He married Mary Theresa Kraus on April 20, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church, Sand Springs, IA.

Francis was a member of Local #289 DUBUQUE MUSICIANS' PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION, Dubuque Musicians Association, Clarence Zahina Band, Frank Barry Band, and the Music Masters Band.

He retired from PEOPLES NATURAL GAS after thirty-one years and was a member of Gas Workers Local 402. He worked as a yardman for Ed and Joan Tschiggfrie for twenty-one years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for sixty years and the Northeast Iowa Boy Scouts Council for forty-two years. He served as Scoutmaster of Resurrection Troop 91 and was an Order of Arrow Vigil member and advisor.

During his years of involvement in Scouting, Francis was honored with receiving; George Meaney Award, Award of Merit, The St. George Emblem, The Founders Award and The Silver Beaver. He was fortunate to be able to go on Honor Flight VIII in 2013. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and his grandchildren.
