RAUEN, Carolyn. (Dubuque, IA-- ). An occupational therapist at UNITYPOINT HEALTH-FINLEY HOSPITAL, Rauen used a trip to Wyoming as a stress reliever during the PANDEMIC. A frequent visitor there with her family, she photographed the terrain and in 2021 was given the opportunity to apply for the "inspired by Yellowstone" program. This annual program gave artists and photographers an opportunity to have their work used as merchandise and displayed in the hotels and shops promoting the park. She was accepted and had her work on sale in 2022 at the Old Faithful Inn and the Lake Hotel. A large-scale print of her picture of the post office in Yellowstone was hung in the lobby and was archived at the facility permanently.

Giving her acceptance even greatly significance, 2022 was the 150th anniversary of the park with thousands of additional visitors expected to visit the park and see her work. In addition to prints, canvas acrylic and metal, her work is found on notecards, calendars, coffee mugs, water bottles and blankets. During a trip to Jackson Hole in 2022 with her son, she arranged to have two stores on the main street begin selling her notecards.
