PFOHL VENETIAN BLIND COMPANY. Louis A. and Genevieve Pfohl purchased the property on which the company was started in 1956 and constructed the building of concrete block. The business was originally known as Venetian Blind Sales and Service. It later became Pfohl Venetian Blind Company and on December 21, 1964 Pfohl's Inc. when it had become a complete interior window covering sales and service business.

The 1957 through 1977 Dubuque City Directory listed the address as 335 W. 1st.

The 1970 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed the same address for Pfohl's Inc.
