PEOPLE IN ACTION. Leaders of People in Action declared that their group was a "coalition of already existing groups aimed at letting people decide what they want."

In 1971 the membership believed that local and state governmental bodies had no regard for the wishes of the public in the planning of the north-south freeway system. "Our lawsuit is based on the fact that the information government is required to make public is not available." "It's not just the freeway, it's other things; we don't know what will come up later."
