NAGLE, Joseph J. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 12, 1860--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 22, 1932). Nagle was one of Dubuque's best known real estate agents. In 1901 Nagle leased the ROCKDALE MILL to a corporation that operated it until 1915 when competition caused the mill to close.

Nagle purchased the property of Fannie STOUT when she died in 1914 with an unsigned will. He then sold the land to the SISTERS OF MERCY.

The owner of the Stout house before it became the property of the ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBUQUE, Nagle acted as the fiscal agent for the archdiocese for many years and was a member of the board of the archdiocesan corporation. He also served many years on the board of trustees of ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL parish.
