MOORE, Sandra Kay
MOORE, Sandra Kay. (Tuscola, IL, Sept. 2, 1942--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 20, 2023) The daughter of Edward and Mildred (Tresenriter) Moore, Dr. Moore received her BA and MA degrees from Eastern Ill. University, Charleston, IL and her PhD from the University of Iowa.
Sandy dedicated her life to education and worked as an elementary, junior high, and college teacher. She was an Assistant Director for Phi Lamba Theta. As a consultant with the Keystone Area Education Agency, she spearheaded eastern Iowa schools in their commitment to the National History Day competition held annually. She was a popular leader of inservice opportunities including teaching educators how to evaluate papers holistically. Her positive nature and enormous field of experience led each of her workshops to be filled.
Sandy’s hobbies included needlework, music and reading. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Phi Lamba Theta, Phi Beta Kappa, and the National Education Association.
