MANDOLIN CLUB. There was a male Mandolin Club that traveled to resident's homes as early in 1891 to perform recitals. Souvenir programs were prepared by HARDIE AND SCHARLE and featured a photo engraving of the group. (1) This may have been the same club that provided music for the first banquet of the ELKS CLUB on March 8, 1895. (2)

Mandolin clubs in the early 1900s were often associated with universities. The University of Wisconsin Glee and Mandolin clubs performed at the GRAND THEATRE in 1911.

Radio programs by mandolin clubs were broadcast in the 1920s.
