LUTHER, C. W. (Prussia, Germany, Mar. 28, 1823--Unknown) Luther emigrated to America in 1845. He came to Chicago and then Dubuque in 1848. He returned to Chicago and lived there until coming to Dubuque in 1856.

He became the proprietor of the LUTHER'S EUROPEAN HOTEL and a dealer in wines and liquors along Seventh Street and held an interest in mining.
