LUCHTERHAND, Fred. L. M. (Mecklenburg, Germany, Feb. 10, 1868--Dubuque, IA, June 1, 1919). Luchterhand finished his formal education in Dubuque and began the study of contracting. He worked seven years with for one contractor and then several others before forming a partnership under the firm name of Keller & Luchterhand. In the city of Dubuque, the company was involved with the construction of the ST. MARY'S CASINO, ST. ANTHONY'S HOME FOR THE AGED, and the home of Nicholas J. SCHRUP, Sr.
