LEAGUE PARK. Around 1894 a BASEBALL field were established in the Linehan Park Addition and an amphitheater was planned at a cost of $400.00.

From advertisements, it seems apparent that the ball field, located at 27th Street, lacked a formal name and was referred to as "League Park."

The distance from town made attending games difficult. Land, known as "Olinger Park" because it was owned by the Olinger family, at the corner of 24th Street and Elm was purchased. (1) The Dubuque Colts, moved into the new Twenty-Fourth Street Park (later COMISKEY PARK) in 1895, the year the team joined the Eastern Iowa League.
