KOHLMAN, Henry W. (Bavaria, April 22, 1867--Dubuque, IA, May 25, 1943) Until thirteen years old, Henry attended parochial schools. For a time, he then helped his father in the tailoring business and then immigrated to America coming directly to Dubuque.

He obtained employment for two years as bottler with Michael Hollenfelz. In 1886 he moved to the E. C. PEASLEE company, with which he remained ten years and then advanced to the position of foreman, a position he held eleven years. He worked twenty-one years with that business.

When the firm was dissolved he was offered and accepted his present position with the DUBUQUE STAR BREWING COMPANY, with which he has remained. He became the general foreman in 1907.
