KOBZA, Frank N. (Gary, IN, Sept. 14, 1929--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 20, 2009). Kobza owned and operated the shoe department in STAMPFER'S DEPARTMENT STORE and later Fanfare Shoes in KENNEDY MALL. He retired in 1991, but worked part-time at ROLLING'S BOOTERY in Dubuque until it closed.
Kobza was the chairman of the "Jail and Bail" fundraiser for the American Cancer Society for ten years and served on the board for several years. He was also a member of the board of the Kennedy Mall Merchants Association and DUBUQUE MAIN STREET, LTD. Kobza was on the fund-raising board that built the lake at Camp C.S. Claus BSA and was the committee chairman for Boy Scouts Troop 7 and Troop 22.
