KLEIN, Robert F. (Dubuque, IA- ). Klein, director of the Wahlert library at LORAS COLLEGE, was a co-founder of the CENTER FOR DUBUQUE HISTORY and served on the original ten-member board of trustees of the Center as a representative of the DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY. He was also a past-president of the Dubuque County Historical Society and a ten year member of its board of directors.


Klein was the editor of Dubuque: Frontier River City, and Foundations: the Letters of Mathias Loras. He was the author of the definitive work, Dubuque During the California Gold Rush.
