KEOPFLI, Charles. (Canton of Luzerne, Switzerland, 1799--Dubuque, IA, 1870). Keopfli was one of only three doctors to serve Dubuque in 1846. A physician with extensive European training, Keopfli came to the United States and joined his father and brothers in Highland, Illinois, the city they founded. He moved to Dubuque in 1844 and established a medical practice that he continued until his death.
