KATHOLISCHER WESTEN
KATHOLISCHER WESTEN. Continuation of the IOWA. Founded on January 5, 1892, the Katholischer Westen was printed by the CATHOLIC PRINTING COMPANY for release every Thursday. As the circulation of the Iowa grew to include a number of Midwestern states, the decision was made to change the name of the paper to reflect its wider readership. From 1905 to 1918, Charles N. Nennig, the editor, encouraged the Americanization of his readers by stressing love for the United States.
The 1899-1900 Dubuque City Directory listed 291 6th.
The 1911-12 Dubuque City Directory and 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory listed 295 6th.
The paper was discontinued in 1918.
