JANSEN, John. (Dubuque, IA, Nov. 19, 1897--Tucson, AZ, Mar. 30,1967). Jansen attended grade and high school in Dubuque and then was hired as an assistant cashier by the FEDERAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY. In 1921 he joined the FEDERAL DISCOUNT CORPORATION and was promoted to the office of assistant treasurer. He served in this position until 1932. He was elected president of the firm in 1933. In 1940 he was a director of DUBUQUE BANK AND TRUST COMPANY.

In addition to his affiliation with Dubuque Bank and Trust and the Federal Discount Corporation, Jansen served on the boards of the DUBUQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB, RAINBO OIL COMPANY, RAINBO TIRE SERVICE, Transport Sales Company, and the advisory board of CLARKE COLLEGE.

He was a member of the DUBUQUE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB and the 660 Society of the DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY.
