JAEGER, Leo A.
JAEGER, Leo A. (Rev. Msgr.) (Dyersville, IA--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 8, 1976). A graduate of LORAS COLLEGE, Msgr. Jaeger completed his studies for the priesthood at the St. Paul Seminary in 1928 when he was ordained. He then attended the Catholic University in Washington, D. C. and received his degree in 1932. He served as associate pastor of Sacred Heart parish (1933-1939), professor of religion at Loras (1939-1944), and secretary and vice chancellor of the archdiocese (1944-1947).
Designated the Domestic Prelate in 1949, Msgr. Jaeger served Mount St. Francis Convent as chaplain 1947 to 1950. He was also assistant director of the lay retreat and a director of the Legion of Decency.
