HUNTOON, Frank M.
HUNTOON, Frank M. (Dubuque, IA--Syracuse, NY, Dec. 21, 1948). A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Huntoon was a nationally known bacteriologist and immunologist. He was a professor at Cornell, a serum authority for the H. K. Mulford Company, and an author of many text books for medical students. (1)
The first edition of Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology was initiated by action of the Society of American Bacteriologists (now called the American Society for Microbiology) by appointment of an Editorial Board consisting of David H. Bergey, Chairman, Francis C. Harrison, Robert S. Breed, Bernard W. Hammer, and Frank M. Huntoon. (2)
