HOULAHAN, Francis J.
HOULAHAN, Francis J. (Monsignor) (Walker, IA, Dec. 3, 1905--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 9, 1987). Father Houlahan, a graduate of LORAS COLLEGE and from August 1933 to September 1934 the assistant pastor of ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, was appointed dean of studies at the college in May 1941.
While a member of the Loras faculty, Houlahan served as a director of the Summer School Graduate Program of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He served as head of the university's education department from 1947 to 1971. He was then named pastor of St. Lawrence Church at Otter Creek.
